Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Selangor Accelerator Programme?
The Selangor Accelerator Programme (SAP) is a structured 3-month programme that aims to assist startups in the early stage, defined as startups that have not gone for Series A funding. The SAP wishes to help these budding startups in polishing not only their product and business, but their core team as well, through workshops and mentors that will share knowledge, experience, and advice that will help the teams with their soft skills and pitching styles as well.

The SAP also acts as a gateway for startups to prepare themselves for the final demo day. During the final demo day, the Top 5 will stand a chance to win from a cash prize pool of RM50,000.

When do applications begin?
Submissions can be sent anytime from the 14th of June to the 14th of July. As long as you have met all the requirements, why not apply? Aspiring applicants have until 6.00pm of the 14th of July to register!
How do we join the SAP?
Please prepare a PDF copy of your startup’s Form 9 (Certificate of Incorporation) or Form D (Certificate of Registration of Business) and include a 5-page pitch deck in PDF format.
Do we need to pay any fees to join?
No. In fact, teams will stand a chance to win prizes from the SAP and tap into Selangor government agencies. Subsequently, Top 5 qualified finalists will stand a chance to win from the cash prize pool of RM50,000. Overall, the benefits and perks given as part of the programme are worth more than RM40,000 (mentorship, pitching clinics, one-to-one office hour consultation, workshops) – and they are all for you!
Who can join the SAP?
All tech startups are most welcome to apply, which include startups based on New or Emerging Technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Big Data & Machine Learning and the Internet of Things (IoT) devices and solutions, as well as on Smart City and e-Commerce technologies. However, Agritech, Greentech, Smart City, Fintech & e-Commerce startups will be given more consideration during the application process.

  1. Incorporated in Malaysia.
  2. An early stage (pre-Series A) startup established less than 3 years.
  3. Have a MVP or Beta version of their offering.
  4. Able to commit two members to join the programme (Two co-founders, or the founder and a core member).
  5. Able to commit to the 3-month long programme
Are we allowed to submit more than one application?
Yes. However, do take note that only one application will be selected in the event of multiple applications.
When/how will we be notified if our company/project makes the shortlist?
The 30 shortlisted companies will be notified via email and SMS.
