Dr. Wong Huei Ching

Executive Director, Digital Strategy & Innovation, Securities Commission Malaysia

Dr. Wong Huei Ching, who joined the Securities Commission (SC)  in 2017, has contributed to various market development projects and digitalisation efforts. She played a key role in the SC’s Capital Market Masterplan (2021-2025) and represents the SC on the Labuan Financial Services Authority board. Before the SC, she worked with a global consulting firm and a major Malaysian bank, focusing on strategy development and transformation.

 

Renuka Sena

Senior Partner, Scaleup Malaysia

Renuka has been involved in various industries and ventures, holding roles from management to ownership and CEO positions. For the past ten years, she has been dedicated to helping entrepreneurs expand their businesses through specially designed programs at Proficeo and her contributions as an Angel Investor.

 

Noor Amy Ismail

COO, Malaysia Venture Capital Management (Mavcap)

Noor Amy Ismail, COO of MAVCAP, boasts nearly 24 years of experience in corporate and SMEs across various industries. She has held leadership roles at companies like Deloitte Touche and Media Prima Berhad, and co-founded a logistics SME in 2006. While in London, she contributed to a £3.0 billion initiative supporting UK SMEs’ digital strategies and co-founded two F&B outlets. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Brunel University, she specialises in SMEs’ digital adoption in Malaysia and serves as a council member of a global NGO.

 

Ng Sai Kit

Managing Partner, Artem Ventures

With over 25 years of diverse experience, Ng Sai Kit has worked in audit, corporate finance, and venture building across various industries. He founded Captii Ventures & Artem Ventures, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Malaysia Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. Additionally, he mentors at several platforms including Thought for Food and PitchIN, Sidec, ScaleUp Malaysia, Startup Weekend and many more.

 

Goh Boon Peng

Founder and CEO of Mystartr

In 2012, he established Mystartr as an equity crowdfunding platform. In 2019, after approval from the Securities Commission, MyStartr was officially recognized as an equity crowdfunding (ECF) platform. Over the past 5 years, MyStartr has helped 5000 companies succeed, raising a total crowdfunding amount of RM4 billion. As an ECF platform, MyStartr plays a crucial role in connecting investors and startups. They focus on educating retail investors about effective ECF investment strategies while supporting startups in achieving rapid and substantial growth. To date, they have funded more than 73 projects, raising up to RM160 million. Additionally, Mr. Goh initiated the nation’s first-ever Chinese-language crowdfunding reality show, The Sandbox, in collaboration with Astro.

 

Fong Choong Fook

Founder & Executive Chairman of LGMS Berhad

Fong, the founder and executive chairman of LGMS, a top-tier cybersecurity company in Malaysia, offers advanced services such as penetration testing and vulnerability assessment. His proficiency in the field has earned him the Cyber Security Professional of the Year award at the Cyber Security Malaysia Awards in 2022 and 2016. In 2022, LGMS entered the market, attracting substantial investment from Mitsui & Co. The company has spearheaded LGMS’s growth into Cambodia, Vietnam, and Singapore to meet the rising need for cybersecurity services. Additionally, it has established collaborations with telecom powerhouses such as TIME dotcom and Alibaba Cloud.

 

Aizat Rahim

Managing Director & Co-founder of Dropee.com

Aizat Rahim, the co-founder of Dropee.com, offers digital supply-chain solutions to aid SMEs in their growth. He serves as a director at Worldline Group, a conglomerate comprising wholesaling and retail businesses in Malaysia. In addition, he is the founder of Finnext Capital, a company dedicated to transforming and innovating leading corporations. Aizat has successfully grown and sold two companies in the past—Job4Locum.com and Infinite Ventures.

 

Choo Yan Tiee

Managing Director, Autocount Dotcom Berhad

Choo Yan Tiee, CEO of Auto Count Sdn Bhd, co-founded the company in 1996 with Choo Chin Ping. Starting as a small software house, it now provides reliable business software to SMEs across various sectors. With over 200,000 companies and 600,000 users, AutoCount is ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified, reflecting its commitment to business and security compliance. The company aims to expand in the ASEAN region by investing in local expertise and strategic partnerships.

 

Ganesh Kumar

Founder & Executive Chairman of Commerce.Asia

A distinguished entrepreneur and investor, won the 2012 Ernst & Young Technology Entrepreneur of the Year Malaysia. He is listed among Malaysia’s top 10 tech entrepreneurs and is one of Asia’s 100 must-know individuals. Commerce.Asia is a venture builder in Southeast Asia, investing in and accelerating commerce tech enablers. Ganesh invested in e-commerce platforms like Sitegiant, Kumoten, and Famsy, and acquired Panpages Lab, the largest SME database in SouthEast Asia. Commerce.Asia, also a licensee of the GrowthX Accelerator and Academy, set a record in 2018 for the largest equity crowdfunding round in Malaysia.

 

Asyrul R Ramali

Head of VC, PNSB Ventures

Asyrul Ramali is an investment professional with almost 20 years of experience across various asset classes. He developed his career at two of the largest Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLICs) in Malaysia, initially focusing on public equity with Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), and later transitioning to real estate with Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP). His passion for investment, business development, and strategy then led him to the venture capital (VC) world, providing him with the platform to assist and guide aspiring startups and entrepreneurs. Currently, he serves as the Head of Investment at Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB), leading a team that manages the first state-backed VC fund in Malaysia.

Programme period

The program period for the Mac-Nov cycle includes full-day activities every month. This recurring schedule provides participants with a consistent and immersive experience throughout the year.

When will the application close?

For those interested in applying for the program, it’s essential to take note of the application period. The application window is open from 22 January 2024 to 10 February 2024. Make sure to register within this timeframe to be considered for participation.

Can I join after the program has started?

If you’re considering joining the program after it has started, the good news is that you can still join. However, please note that joining after the program commencement will require you to pay the full amount of the yearly plan. This ensures that participants have access to the complete set of activities and benefits for the entire program duration.

Programme cost

Regarding the membership fee, the annual fee is RM3000.
