Who Should Join?

Token-X is open to early-stage startups and scale-ups operating in digital finance and Web3-related verticals, including but not limited to:

Entry Criteria

Team Formation & Leadership

  • The startup must be formed before joining the programme.
  • Co-founders may be fintech innovators, blockchain developers, or financial industry professionals.
  • Each team must include at least one Technical Lead (blockchain/Al) and one Business Lead (finance, compliance, or operations).

Technology Readiness & Innovation

  • Demonstrated Proof of Concept (PoC) or validated tokenization /fintech technology addressing real-world use cases.
  • A Functional Prototype or MVP showcasing core digital asset or financial innovation.
  • Regulatory-Ready Architecture, built with compliance-by-design (AML/CFT, KYC, data security).

*Priority for TRL 4-7 startups developing tokenization, digital payments, infrastructure, or RegTech solutions.

Business Readiness & Program Commitment

  • Must be a legally registered company (SSM certified or equivalent).
  • Commit to the 12-week Token-X accelerator, including:
    - Fintech & tokenomics mentorship
    - Investor, VC & corporate partnership networking
    - Product-market fit, business model refinement & go-to-market execution
  • Have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or scalable prototype ready for evaluation.

Financial Commitment & Growth Opportunities

  • A commitment fee of RM6,480 (inclusive of 8% SST) is required for shortlisted startups.
  • The fee secures a Token-X Demo Showcase slot at SDEC 2026, regardless of outcome.
  • Top 4 startups will gain access to:
    - International fintech & Web3 missions
    - Strategic investor connections
    - Digital asset regulatory consultations
    - Industry showcases and investment exposure

Selangor Digital Asset & Tokenomic Xccelerator (Token-X)

Token-X is a high-impact accelerator programme designed to help startups build, validate, and scale digital asset and token-based business models, with expert guidance and real-world exposure.

Applications for Token-X will open on 2 March and close on 1 May.

The accelerator programme will run from June to September, spanning approximately 12 weeks of structured activities, workshops, and mentorship sessions.

There is no fee required to apply for Token-X.

However, shortlisted companies will be required to commit a one-time participation fee of RM6,480 (inclusive of 8% SST) to gain full access to programme resources, benefits, and ecosystem opportunities.

Interested companies may apply through the application form available on the Token-X landing page. No payment is required during the application stage.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to submit:

  • A Company Profile (latest version, maximum 20 pages)
  • A 60-second video explaining why your company wants to join Token-X

All shortlisted companies must be able to commit fully throughout the programme duration.

Token-X is open to startups operating in digital asset and Web3-related verticals, including but not limited to:

  • Digital assets and tokenisation
  • Blockchain infrastructure and protocols
  • Decentralised Finance (DeFi)
  • Web3 applications and platforms
  • Digital payments and digital banking
  • Regtech, Insurtech, and fintech enablement
  • Sustainability-focused or Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenisation
  • Other blockchain-enabled solutions aligned with digital finance innovation

Applicants must:

  • Be incorporated in Malaysia
  • Be an early-stage startup or scale-up (pre-seed to seed), established within the past seven (7) years
  • Have at least a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or beta solution
  • Commit a minimum of two (2) representatives (e.g. founders or core team members)
  • Be able to fully participate in the 12-week accelerator programme

Shortlisted companies will be notified via email following the evaluation process. Successful applicants will receive onboarding instructions and further details on the next steps.
