Confident that your product may help with SME digitalisation? If yes, you are invited to apply as a digital service provider for the Selangor SME Digitalisation Matching Grant.

The Selangor government is providing a 50% matching grant or a maximum of RM5,000 for state SMEs to subscribe to the chosen digital service provider. The grant, worth a total of RM5 million, aims to help Selangor SMEs to digitalise their businesses in weathering the Covid-19 storm.

Seeking Digital Service Providers in 8 Digitalisation Areas:

Eligibility Criteria

Registered under the relevant laws of Malaysia

Must be at least 51% owned by Malaysians

Company registered in Selangor or have a business address in Selangor

Must have paid-up capital of at least RM50,000

In operation for more than 3 years or successfully deployed the digital solutions to at least 100 enterprises

Process Flow

Application
Open for DSPs application

Approval
DSPs will receive notification of approval via email

Activation
Training modules and digitalisation systems to be properly implemented within 1 month

Proof of Payment
DSPs must provide proof of activation and report to SIDEC

Grant Release
Grant payment will be issued to DSPs’ accounts

Note: If the DSP fails to implement the digital system within the time period, the grant payment will be deferred.

FAQ for Digital Service Providers

  • What are Digital Service Providers (DSPs)?

    DSPs are local technology companies identified to support Malaysian SMEs in digital adoption under the Selangor SME Digitalisation Matching Grant.

    Selangor SMEs interested to apply for the said grant will be asked to refer to the DSP list published on SIDEC’s website.

  • Can I still participate if my business address is not in Selangor?

    The application is only open to technology companies which are registered in Selangor or have a business address in Selangor.

  • When will the application for Digital Service Providers be opened?

    Application for DSPs will open on July 1 until July 16, 2021, 12pm.

  • Can I apply to become a DSP if I am a TSP for the SME Business Digitalisation Grant (Penjana Initiative/MDEC)?

    Yes, you can apply to become our DSP.

  • Is the application limited only to companies offering software as a service (SaaS) packages?

    No. However, SaaS is preferred and we encourage more companies to offer their digital solutions on the cloud.

  • Can I apply to become a DSP if my company is offering digital solutions in hybrid cloud packages?

    Yes, this is acceptable.

  • Can I package my digital solutions that are not limited to software support but also require hardware support such as desktop, tablet, barcode scanner and etc?

    Yes, but this is acceptable for E-PoS only. For other digitalisation areas, it will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

  • Can I apply to become a DSP aside from the 5 digitalisation areas that have been listed?

    At the moment, we are looking for DSPs that offer solutions in the 5 digitalisation areas only.

  • Do I need to submit more than one application if my company is offering digital solutions in a few areas?

    If your company offers multiple digital solutions, you only need to submit one application but you must choose a maximum of 2 from the 5 digitalisation services.

  • Can I submit my application if I own multiple companies?

    Yes, as the application is tied to companies and not the person or director. However, you will have to submit a different application for each company that you own.

  • For software as a service (SaaS), can I include enterprises which used free trials to fulfil the mentioned criteria?

    Yes. You are however required to provide supporting documents such as records of usage and others.

  • How do I show proof of the 100 clients served?
    • You are required to provide the client names and relevant details in an excel file and upload it with the application form.
    • The Special Evaluation Committee has the right to request additional information or proof as and when required as part of its audit exercise.
  • Can I include my current corporate clients to fulfil the criteria of having served 100 enterprises?

    Yes. Although this may show your capability in delivering, you must be ready to support SMEs who are the recipient of this grant.

  • Can I apply to become a DSP first while I am seeking my board resolution to increase the RM50,000 paid up capital to comply with the mentioned criteria?

    No, as you are required to comply with the mandatory criteria upon application. Therefore, we suggest that you complete all the necessary items required prior to submitting your application.

  • I am a Malaysian owner but my company is registered abroad. Can I participate?

    To be eligible, either your company must be registered in Selangor or it is operating in Selangor. Your company must also be at least 51% Malaysian-owned.

  • How do I apply as a digital service provider?
