Accountant

Your Role

As a key member of the team, you will be managing the company’s finance and will be reporting to the Finance Manager. Your responsibilities include:

  • Performing a variety of professional-level accounting duties and leading the accounting department in preparing, maintaining, analysing and reconciling financial transactions, statements, records, and reports
  • Preparing monthly and yearly financial / management reports, budget and other ad hoc reports
  • Managing accounts processing system involving invoices, payment vouchers and monitoring payment terms and maintaining appropriate records
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with the preparation of the budget and forecast
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with the preparation of year-end accounts and arranging and providing information for internal / external auditors and tax agents
  • Interacting and liaising with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries and regulators, ensuring timely submission of annual statutory audits, corporate tax, income tax and SST fillings
  • Suggesting updates to the accounting policies and procedures as appropriate
  • Familiar with MFRS 16 and any other relevant standards under Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB)
  • Maintaining proper filing and housekeeping of financial records
  • Performing ad hoc tasks as and when required by the management

What you need to have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant professional qualifications (MICPA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience with managerial experience of at least 2 years
  • Excellent command of MYOB accounting software, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Self-motivated and forward thinking    
  • Ability to organise and prioritise daily duties with excellent time management         
  • Strong level attention and accuracy to detail with problem solving abilities      
  • All-round accounting knowledge
